Thanks a million, LadySky!! You'd never guess that you struggle with perspective; your dolls are all so skillful! I'm actually thinking of doing another one like this only in autumn colors, now that the trees are beginning to drop their leaves here. I wonder if I could do anything about the patio/path thingy to make it less rod-like?

This is so fabulous! The background is so impressive, it's really detailed and intricate and looks amazing. You did really well with the perspective (I struggle with it too!), it's really impressive. I like how soft the greenery in the way back is, it gives a real sense of distance but also density. The rose bushes really add a nice pop of color against the green. The statue is really cool too, I like her pose and the drape-y toga. Brilliant work!

Thank you kindly, Sora!! I surprised myself with the depth I got in this; generally perspective is not my best thing, lol. I'm so pleased that you like this! Mahe'eia was going to have a similar background in more Tanjiian colors, but my computer froze on me.

This is wonderful, Saralyn!! The depth you've put into this! It feels like that background goes on for miles, without feeling flat at all!! And the roses and statue are so lovely! Totally wonderful!!

Many thanks, Lolita!! That's a lovely compliment! The statue's pose is based on one that's called, I believe, "the Little Bird Girl" that has her hands flat like that to put bird seed in; I just put her in flowy Greek draperies, lol.

Thank you very much, Yellowauthor!! Yes, those are seashells! I thought the ridges of them looked a bit like leaf veining. :) There was a period about the time of Jane Austen when every "modern" estate had to have a "Grecian" temple and marble statues; it was "the done thing" in English landscaping at the time, so that was my inspiration.

This is so cool! I can totally see the Grecian influence; it definitely has a medieval, Roman/Grecian feel to it, what with the statue and the pillared building in the back ^^ I love the roses, too, and the way you layered the background to give it depth! ââ¬¦ And are those ââ¬¦ seashells?? O.o Inspired!! They make marvelous bushes!
