So Elora told them of the name binding spell that Ynarra and Brin had offered her, and stated furthermore that she was willing to undergo it, and also any other oaths or vows they felt necessary. That prompted a large amount of discussion, but in the end, most of the women who sat in judgement were ready to be merciful and allow Elora her life. A few Witches, however, remained unconvinced. Among them, surprisingly enough, was Elora. "I will abide by the decision of this community," she said.

When the sun rose, Elora Silvana-Tilyach had her last interview with her 48 jurors. She responded candidly to all of their questions, and her demeanor had definitely altered from that of the Witch she had been, or even from three days ago. That alone was impressive; many had doubted that the Old Ways had any merit. However, much was still lacking. "How can we be sure of your future good behavior? You could be lying, or even sincere now and slip into old and evil habits at some point."

That news was startling. It changed everything. Elora wasn't afraid to go through with it, she didn't fear the power over her it would give to others... exactly... but she didn't want to answer hastily without giving the matter adequate thought. That could indeed be fear talking, or desperation. The murderess and traitor didn't sleep at all that night; her thoughts were too busy. She weighed her life with what she hoped was fairness and dispassion, and drew certain conclusions about herself.

Regardless of how ardently she might desire to devote herself to making amends, Elora didn't believe she would be given the chance. So, that night, she quietly bade her sister goodbye... or at least, she tried to say farewell and send her away. Ynarra, however, merely sent for Brin. Everyone had assumed that her daughter had come to Ankanas with the Mistress Supreme for health reasons, yet now the truth was revealed. There was a spell, a binding spell, that could offer proof of her intent.
