@LadyLeaf - just in case I accidentally erased your comment instead of liking it, you said: Saralyn this is pure genius! I know this is a serious action scene, but I cannot help a laugh. Marea and her friends have great team work, as well as sense of humour. Morticia, Gomez, Lily and Elvira...I can't even, this scene will be immortalised.

A bit to the side, the same scenario repeated, this time starring Lily Munster and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, although both wore the uniform of the bloodborn. With a shaky, yet powerful, Marea trading off with Belandvyn to watch over Mark, the two Fae's and one half-Fae were free to hunt down the three unoccupied Yelaadim, which they set about with an eldritch and predatory grace. "Surrender," said the young Witch in a mild conversational tone, as though it were merely a polite suggestion.

There were still seven Yelaadim vying for an opening to strike. Marea, extremely dizzy, nonetheless ran awkwardly into the main hall, staff held high. Lightning seared up from it and played across the ceiling, temporarily dazzling everybody. Amid the throng of soldiers, the red eyes of Morticia Addams surveyed those of Gomez and identified him as an enemy Damian, just as he attacked her. Robin had seized the opportunity to use his mask bubbles; obviously Yelaadim didn't watch classic television.

Tylyr's yo-yo flashed out, and the nearest Yeled's face was engulfed in a pale blue bubble that matched his hair. The Ghillie Dhu stabbed him in the thigh, under his guard, then, straightening, clouted the man in the jaw with the hilt of his dagger. Swiftly he turned, parrying a sword cut with his knife, and blinded this soldier, too, with a pastel bubble, before Robin's bat hit him in the back of the head. Out of ammunition, Belandvyn was now standing over Mark with her own dagger drawn.

Thirteen Yelaadim poured into the hall as quickly as they could, spreading out to avoid both the Maenad's arrows and their fallen or staggering comrades. She vaulted onto a tabletop and started shooting down into the crowd, choosing her targets carefully to keep from wasting her four remaining shafts. As the Bubble Magician bent to assess the severity of Mark's wound, his flatmate grabbed Robin's upper arm with his good right hand and said urgently, "I'll be fine. Assuming we live. Fight!"

Five floors above, Marea bit her lip, abandoned the door, and, conjuring ice ahead of her, began to slide down the spiral staircase. Meanwhile, in the great hall, things got really confusing. The first soldier's dropped weapon tripped the man next to him, so that Tylyr's throwing knife passed over his head and caught the third Yeled in the neck instead. That left a dozen men and one fleet footed and quite smug woman, not that anyone had the time or opportunity to count them at that moment.
