| A pre-October #Halloween doll. I made a version of this pair in 2015, but to describe them again: the Waif is hunger, insatiable, unstoppable. Once unchained, she decimates everything in her path, also feeding on pain, sadness, and despair in the flesh. Meanwhile the Picker amuses himself collecting inorganic objects to finance a disguise that will take them to the next vulnerable land. In truth, she disgusts him: not her gruesome eating habits, but rather her yearning for meat and anguish. The Picker is more dispassionate. So why doesn't he rid himself of this odious companion? There is a geas on him, almost more ancient than the Waif; he must curtail her until someone asks him how she may be killed. Then, all hell is free to break loose. |
