When Estel similarly demands to know the motivation behind Southern Cross's desire to have her once more in command of the Firebrand, she's equally frustrated. "The two girls will take orders better from you," he tells her. "Nonsense! I'm no mother hen! You simply don't want to have to deal with them," Shooting Star retorts. "Possibly," he admits. "Nevertheless, you're needed here." "What aren't you telling me?" she asks. "Nothing. I just have a bad feeling that we could use your luck."

Having finally learned to scry, Silver Fox is able to grill... er, politely question, his absent sister about the odd favor she wants him to do, and why it's taking so long for the northern town to settle its governmental issues. "I can't tell you," Summer Wind replies. "I wish that I could, but I've pledged a vow of secrecy. Just keep your ears and nose on the alert, all right?" He promises faithfully to do exactly that, although ideally the shapeshifter would have preferred more details.

It is understood that this will last just long enough for her to sail from the Central Kingdom to the islands and back. Silver Fox and Estel, being skeptical about too many coincidences, wonder what is afoot, but consent to go.
