Only her two good friends will ever know, though, for Catleya betrays no sign in her steps or movements that she hasn't always done this with the greatest of ease. Velen is proud. He is actually, watching her swirl away with others of his mother's guests, a little jealous not to have her all to himself anymore, his own precious secret. Oddly, he half hopes that at some point during the day, he'll be disturbed by Catleya hovering over his bed, fingering a weapon, and saying outrageous things.

Of course, there are many different types of fairies, and presumably they do not all look alike. Nevertheless, Prem Deva is confident that if Catleya de Seleni carries herself with her usual grace and doesn't absolutely flop at dancing, many ladies will ask the young Noirfey landscape gardener who created her gown. And neither Deva nor Velen di Camparo believe that Catleya will flop at dancing. Only Velen is in a position to appreciate the progress she has made first hand, but Deva can guess.
