Meet Ahmir and Saffira, the pirate king Mya ran away with and Mya's twin sister! These two became an item after Ahmir had the boneheaded idea to try and kill a rare, venomous dragon on a bet. His left arm was bitten, and he would have died had Saffira (who grew up with the dragons and could speak to and tame them at will) not found him. She healed him, but the dragon's venom left him with curling green scales across half his body. Saffira had learned the dragons' language, a form of emotional telepathy, and Ahmir's dragon-marked skin allowed her to connect to him in a way nearly unknown to humankind. When Ahmir began a rebellion against the king who had killed the rightful Queen, his own daughter, for the throne, Saffira left her home with him, and needless to say they have been quite the troublemaking pair with a fleet of pirates and a few firebreathing friendlies at their back ;) Sorry for the lack of background, but I hope you like them anyway! ^^ I think they're rather cute XD
